Ashley & Jake's Wedding Reception in Scituate, MA

On August 10th, Ashley & Jake celebrated their marriage in Scituate, MA with family and friends. They had officially tied the knot in March, so this was their time to party! It was a beautiful celebration of love for an amazing couple, and the weather was perfect too!

Their reception was held at the historic Barker House in Scituate, which also served as a spot for them to get ready with their closest friends and family. Cooper even got dressed up too!

We made our way to the Scituate Light for a first look between the bride and groom, followed by family photos and bridal party shots.

It was a bright and sunny day, so I set up some additional lighting when it was time to capture portraits of the couple. This helped them pop against the backdrop, and made for some great dramatic shots!

Following the first look, they met up with their family and friends for cocktails and delicious appetizers at the Barker House.

The newlywed couple kicked off the reception with a first dance, followed by a heartfelt toast from Ashley’s father.

At the end of dinnertime, we snuck out for a few photos in the garden. The air had cooled down a bit, which felt nice, the evening light was soft, and we caught a sunset of beautiful cotton candy hues.

After dinner, it was time to sneak in the cutting of the cake. It looked amazing. I really loved their cake topper!

At this point of the night, DJ Dom kicked the music up a notch and got things started on the dance floor. Everyone had a great time! I blended in some shutter drag shots later in the night to give the photos more of a party vibe.

Toward the end of the night, Jake and the boys made their way outside for a celebratory cigar. It was a beautiful clear night, and after a refresh outside they kept the party going!

It was truly a pleasure to work with Ashley and Jake, as well as all of the vendors and people that made this day such a success. Thanks to all involved, and congratulations to the Stilphens! Wishing them a lifetime of happiness!
